# Gurucool: Shloka ship karna, phir app ko iOS par laana

## Problem

Main Gurucool mein ek app engineer ke taur par join hua aur mujhe lagatar do bahut
alag mandate mile. Pehla, scratch se ek bilkul naya app banao. Phir, us app ko fix
karo jo company ke paas pehle se tha: ek React Native product jo Android par ship
hota tha par jiska koi iOS version tha hi nahi.

## Shloka, scratch se banaya

Mera pehla project Shloka tha, ek aisa app jo users ko kisi calm aur daily cheez ki
taraf wapas laane ke liye banaya gaya tha: Bhagavad Gita ke shlok. Backend mein
shloko ka poora collection tha, aur har ek ke saath uska translation,
transliteration, commentary, aur meaning tha. Maine app ko isi ke ird-gird banaya:
ek clean reading experience jo backend se ek shlok aur uske context ki layers
kheenchta hai aur unhe simply present karta hai. Maine ise zero se iOS aur Android
dono par banaya aur ship kiya.

## Gurucool ko iOS par laana

Gurucool khud ek astrology guidance app hai: log certified jyotishiyon se pyaar,
career, shaadi, health, aur paise ke baare mein daily horoscope, chat, on-call
sessions, aur live video ke through salah lete hain, jo Vedic astrology, tarot,
numerology, aur vastu par based hai. Real-time consultation par yahi focus wajah
hai ki app chat aur live sessions par itna depend karta hai, wahi do cheezein
jinhe maine aage banaya aur fix kiya.

Phir main Gurucool app team mein aaya. App ek akela React Native codebase tha, par
usse sirf Android hi kabhi build hua tha. Koi iOS app nahi tha, aur, jaisa mujhe
pata chala, project mein koi ios folder hi nahi tha. To pehla kaam tha iOS ko
existence mein laana: maine existing React Native repo ke andar ios project aur
uska native scaffolding banaya, phir us har cheez ki lambi kataar se guzra jo tab
tootti hai jab koi codebase kabhi iOS ko target hi nahi karta. Pods install nahi ho
rahe the, app build nahi ho raha tha, app start nahi ho raha tha. Maine har issue
ko tab tak fix kiya jab tak ye compile aur run na ho gaya, iOS app ko Android ke
poore level tak laya, aur use App Store par publish kiya.

Wahan se, iOS mera tha. Maine iOS app ko poori tarah own kiya aur team ke saath
dono platforms ko milkar handle kiya.

## Maine kin cheezon par kaam kiya

**GraphQL subscriptions par ek chat system.** Maine app ki chat aisi banayi ki
messages GraphQL subscriptions par chalein, taaki baat-cheet bina polling ke live
rahe.

**Live video.** Agora pehle se integrated tha par buggy tha. Maine issues par kaam
kiya aur bugs fix kiye taaki live sessions asal mein tik saken.

**Engagement ke liye CleverTap.** Maine CleverTap integrate kiya taaki team dekh
sake ki app kaise use ho raha hai aur lifecycle messaging chala sake.

**Structure aur optimization.** Maine app ki files aur folders dobara organize kiye
aur project ko clean kiya taaki ye sirf kaam karne wala nahi, balki maintainable
aur fast ho.

Android-only se ek poori iOS presence tak pahuncha jise maine ek aise codebase se
banaya aur publish kiya jo kabhi iOS ke liye compile hi nahi hua tha, phir ye mere
saath iOS owner ke taur par ek do-platform team mein chala. Saar seedha hai: main
ek app ko jahan bhi wo ho, missing, aadha-bana, ya messy, wahan se shipped aur
maintainable tak le jaata hoon.
